Welcome to the American International Club of Zurich
The American International Club of Zurich was founded in 1957 and provides a non-political, international networking forum for members of all nationalities. The AICZ has no political affiliations or objectives, and is not a profit-making organization.
If you’re reading this in Zurich, you’ll know we’ve been enjoying a beautiful spring. The “Böög” at Sechseläuten exploded after 12 minutes and 48 seconds, which, according to tradition, promises a mild and lovely summer in 2026—exactly the kind of forecast Zurich loves.
It’s hard to believe that two months have already passed since the AGM. As always, it was a wonderful opportunity to connect with both new and longtime members and to recognize the dedication of our outgoing and incoming Executive Committee (EC). Since joining the EC in 2018, I have continually been humbled by the hard work and heart that go into every club event. This club has never been about one person—it is about all of us, our shared spirit, and the way we support one another. Thank you to everyone who continues to contribute to this community with such generosity and enthusiasm.
We were also delighted to welcome Ron Banks as guest speaker at this year’s AGM. His reflections on leadership, collaboration between AIC Geneva and AICZ, and the evolving challenges of running an American club abroad sparked a lively and engaging discussion. We look forward to building on this connection and are planning several joint events with AIC Geneva this year.
If you would like to become more involved in the club, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any EC member about joining our Standing Committee. We are always grateful for fresh ideas, energy, and inspiration.
As I shared at the AGM, the values guiding me as President are fairness, respect, and fostering a welcoming environment where everyone feels included and valued. My hope is that every member feels they truly belong here.
Thank you for your support, your presence, and the energy you bring to this community. Let’s continue building something meaningful together.
